Limiting Yourself InThe Book of ash-Shahihain,?
QUISTION:
What would you say to people who only limit themselves to thebooks of ash-Shahihain (Saheeh al-Bukhari and Saheeh Muslim) alone without even glancing at the books of Sunnah else? Isal-Bukhari and Muslim requires to remove all the saheeh hadeethalone?
ANSWER:
There is no doubt, that opinion is far from true even could fall intoerror because it was tantamount to reject the Sunnah Prophet Muhammad.
Al-Bukhari and Muslim does not require to remove all the saheehhadeeth alone. As informed the scholars of al-Bukhari, that heonce said, "I memorized 100 thousand hadeeth." The scholarswere also quoting him as saying, "But I leave the other hadithsare saheeh because of fear is too long (long-tele). "
Al-Bukhari himself had menshahihkan own hadiths which was notauthentic. This is clearly apparent in the questions-Turmudzi athim like that contained in Sunan at-Turmudzi.
The Muslim scholars also quoting from a similar case in which heonce said, "Not everything that is authentic and I think I fit here."
So, no doubt carried away people who only limit themselves to the book of al-Shahihain only and reject the book in addition toboth.
